The Agnes Zaiontz Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway Transportation Museum

The Agnes Zaiontz Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway Transportation Museum and Intermodal Learning Center exhibits the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway and its extensive lock and dam system, as well as related rail and highway transportation artifacts and information.

Initially the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway Transportation Museum, it was renamed to honor Agnes Zaiontz, Tenn-Tom Waterway’s long-time office manager and driving force behind the museum, which was incorporated in 2006.

The museum’s educational and interactive exhibits detail the history of the Tenn-Tom region’s transportation systems, specifically on transportation, the Pilot House, and the Lock Model. Tourists, school groups, researchers, citizens, families, and civic and cultural groups enjoy the museum, headquartered in the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway Development Authority building.
